CHAOSCASTLE - DISTRIBUTION
==========================
COPYING AND GETTING CHAOSCASTLE
The program ChaosCastle and the associated files (except the keyfile which
does not directly belong to the package) can be copied and spread anywhere
and for free as long as all files (including the documentation) are kept
together and unmodified.
This program is copyrighted (c) 1998 by Nicky. You are not allowed to use
it, or part of it, for commercial purpose. You are not allowed to
distribute a modified version of it without the author's permission.
The program, as it is, run in the demo mode: only a few levels are available
and the game will stop as soon as you reach 1000 points.
In order to run in full mode, which has not the above limitations, you
have to register to the program: in short it consists in sending 20 CHF to
the author as a payment for the program, as well as an e-mail
with your name and address and the name of the program you are requesting
(ChaosCastle). See below for details.
In return, you will receive (by e-mail) a keyfile named "ChaosCastle.key"
and a password.
The file "ChaosCastle.key" should be put in one of these directory:
"S:", "L:", "KEYS:" or "KEYFILES:". If the program find the file in one
of these directories, it will run in the full mode, without the limitations.
You will be prompted for your password the first time you install the
keyfile, and each time you move the "CCastle" drawer.
Warning: paying for a keyfile is like buying a commercial product:
you are not allowed to duplicate the keyfile and to give or sell a copy of
it to somebody else; such a practice is considered software piracy and is
illegal.
All the above also meens that ChaosCastle belongs to the kind of program
which is also known under the term of SHAREWARE.
One for all: the keyfile will work for every versions and revisions of
the program ChaosCastle. Once you have paid for it, you can always get and
use the latest version of the game, or a version for an other operating
system, with the same keyfile.
The latest versions of ChaosCastle can always be found on the web at one
of the following internet addresses:
http://members.xoom.com/ChaosCastle/index.html
http://ChaosCastle.webjump.com/index.html
The other programs I've done are also available there.
HOW TO REGISTER
(1)
Fill in the following registration form and send it to my e-mail address:
Nicky@GameBox.net
You can also do it from internet at one of the addresses given above (use
the link 'Register to one of my shareware program').
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
I am requesting a keyfile for ChaosCastle.
My address is
First and last name:
Address:
e-mail:
Thank you.
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------+
There is no way to register unless you have an e-mail address; but you can
use the e-mail address of a friend for the 'e-mail' field and put your name
and address in the other fields.
You will get a confirmation as a reply as soon as I've received your e-mail.
(2)
Send 20 CHF to my postal account:
Address: Nicolas Juillerat
Charbonnières 21
1723 Marly
To: PTT Switzerland
Account: 17-662457-8
Whatever method you use for paying, be sure to write your e-mail address
and the word 'ChaosCastle' somewhere or else I cannot know who is
paying and for what.
(3)
Then you will receive a personal keyfile and a password at the e-mail
address given in the above form as soon as I have received BOTH the
registration form and the payment. The keyfile is a file that will be
attached to the e-mail.
Do not forget then to put the file 'ChaosCastle.key' you will have received
in 'S:', 'L:', 'KEYS:' or 'KEYFILES:'.
Please write down your password somewhere because it is needed each
time you move the 'CCastle' drawer. If you forget it (or the keyfile), you
can still send an e-mail to me with your full name and address and I will
give it to you again but this may take a long time.
FUTURE
There are some other project I am working on or I have in mind and which
may also be published in the future.
Note that I am not working for a society; it meens that the only
payment I get for my work are the registration's fees.
This meen that I will only continue developing games and programs if
there is enough people who register to my programs.
So, please register if you like and use ChaosCastle.
But do not do it if you find this game is only crap !
ChaosCastle 1.0
There are still some bugs to correct in the current version (0.9) and
additional things to implement such as AHI support. Version 1.0 will fix
that.
ChaosCastle 2.0
A new version with the following additional features:
o Two-player mode
o Dynamic loading => use less memory and may run on 512k Amigas
o Background musics
o More levels
o Maybe a 256-colors version
o Maybe an option to play in a window on the Workbench
E-G-R
A simple scrolling shoot-em-up game (probably as freeware) that
implements most of the special physical effects of ChaosCastle.
Comet
A jump-and-run game; a very big project.
Grotte
An ugly buggy crapy game. Nothing interesting.
???
A combination of a break-out and a pinball with lots of other ideas.
SMUSEd
A tool this one: a complete music editor that include waveforms and
instruments edition.
Port the existing programs to other operating systems.
Most of my programs are (and will be) based on a basic portable library of
functions. I only need to rewrite this library for a new OS to port
all these program to that OS.
The TOS (Atari) version is in progress. The UNIX port will probably follow.
The following OS are also planned: OS/2, Win32 and eventually JVM.
Amiga and MacOS versions are already available.
In all case, the latest versions of all my programs can be found at one of
the following internet addresses:
http://members.xoom.com/ChaosCastle/index.html
http://ChaosCastle.webjump.com/index.html
